Overview
A shop front to do commerce.
Trade without opening the door. The shop front fills a wall frame, and each side of the counter gets its own slots: you put your offer in from inside the base, the other player puts his in from outside, and the swap only goes through when both of you accept. Touch the offer after that and the deal needs accepting again.
Picture a neighbour knocking on your wall with a stack of wood he wants to swap for frags. Without a counter you either open up to a stranger or toss things through a window and hope. With one, nobody steps inside and nobody walks off with both halves.
The catch is that both of you have to be there at once. A vending machine sells while you sleep, but it costs gears and high quality metal. A drop box only works one way: people leave things for you, and nothing goes back out.
The wooden counter is the cheap way in, with no bench and nothing to research. On a busy road, though, the metal shop front is the better buy, because the game calls that one bulletproof and says nothing of the kind about this one.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
