Characteristics
Overview
Perfect for cover when engaging in gun fights. Decays rapidly when placed outside of building privilege.
Gunfights on your own land are what it is for. The game sells it as cover in a firefight and warns in the same breath that it decays rapidly outside building privilege. That tells you where it lives: inside the range of your Tool Cupboard, in the compound, along the path from your door to your farm.
The price stops nobody. 250 wood, no workbench, 15 scrap to research. The odd number on its row is the stack size: only three fit in a slot, so you will not be carrying a dozen out on a roam.
Watch out
Dropping one at a monument for a quick fight is fine. Walling off a farm or a cave outside your TC with them is not. They rot while you sleep, and you come back to open ground.
Inside privilege it does the job as well as wood can. If you want something sturdier, the concrete barricade costs stone instead of wood and waits for a Level 2 bench. The rest of the deployables are on the Construction page.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
