Overview
Wood shutters that you can open and close.
Shutters give a window two states. Open, you look out, shoot out and get some light. Closed, nobody sees what is in the room and nobody puts a spray of bullets into it. That makes them the cover for rooms you live in: the furnace corner, the bench room, the spot where you sort loot after a run.
Pros
Cons
- No bench: 200 wood each, ready on wipe day
- Open or shut whenever you like, unlike a fixed embrasure
- Can share a window with bars, so it stays sealed while open
- Four times the wood of wooden window bars
- Wood, so it burns and breaks before metal does
- Left open, it is just an open window again
The usual setup is shutters on the outside and metal window bars behind them. Someone runs past, you open up; you log off, you close, and the bars keep climbers out the whole time. When that window turns into a real firing post later in the wipe, a metal horizontal embrasure takes over.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
