Ammunition

High Velocity Rocket

The cheap, fast rocket for hitting players and vehicles. It still splashes hard, but if the target is a wall you want a full rocket instead.

Overview

In-game description
Fast moving rocket ammunition. Short to medium range self-propelled, unguided rocket which deals large splash damage on impact but less damage than a normal rocket.

HV rockets are for fights, not raids. They fly fast and hit with a big splash, so you fire them into a group pushing your compound, at a minicopter that just landed on your roof, or at a player hiding behind a wall your bullets can't get through. Against buildings they do less than a normal rocket, which is why nobody counts them in raid costs.

The price helps too. They skip the explosives that make normal rockets expensive and are built around a metal pipe, so a team can keep a few in the box for base defence without feeling it.

Out of the rocket launcher they travel quicker and straighter than the full rocket, which makes moving targets at medium range realistic. Long shots are still a coin flip. If the players you're shooting at are packed into a wooden shack or one corner, compare with the incendiary rocket before you fire.
