Overview
A Cheap door to secure your base. Its vulnerability to fire and weak explosive resistance makes the door a temporary solution to securing your base. Due to its flaws you should look at upgrading to a higher tier door such as Sheet Metal. The Wooden Door can take two kinds of locks the basic Key Lock and the Code Lock. To pick up the door, remove any locks and open, hold down the E (USE) key and select 'Pickup'.
Your first hut needs something in the doorway before you log off, and three hundred wood with no bench is the quickest answer. While frags are short, a key lock goes on it; the game text says a code lock fits too.
Do not mistake it for protection, though. Wood burns, and a few molotovs take it down without a grain of sulfur. A handful of beancans does the same job louder, and a group with melee tools can chew through it if nobody is home to stop them. Upgrade your walls to stone and leave this door in place, and you have just told every passing group where to hit.
- Craft the sheet metal door first, so the doorway stands open for seconds, not minutes.
- Unlock the old door, take the lock off and open it.
- Hold E on the door and pick it up.
- Place the metal door and put the lock back on.
The door you picked up is not wasted. It can still close a shed by the farm or a stable, somewhere nothing worth a raid sits behind it.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
