Overview
C4, useful for breaking into bases.
Use C4 when you know exactly which door stands between you and the loot. You walk up, stick it on, step away, and it takes a big bite out of one spot. Rockets you fire from a distance and spread across a wall; C4 is for the moment you are already at the door.
Pros
Cons
- Hits one spot harder than a rocket, which suits doors and the last wall before the TC
- No launcher to carry and nothing to aim: place it and step back
- Researchable, so a group can keep building it all wipe
- You have to reach the target, often under fire from the roof
- The fuse gives defenders a moment to react
- Each one wants 20 explosives and 2 tech trash, behind a Level 3 workbench
Tech trash is often the bottleneck, not sulfur. You can craft it at a Level 3 bench from scrap and high quality metal or pull it from crates, but a big raid eats it quickly.
Plan the path before the first charge goes on. Count the doors and walls on the way to the tool cupboard, and bring a couple extra for the honeycomb nobody saw from outside. Running dry at the last wall is how you end up raiding for the next group.
