Overview
A Chainlink Fence Gate.
Hang it wherever you want a door you can see through. It sits in a wall frame, the spot a garage door takes, and costs exactly what a piece of chainlink fence costs: 75 metal fragments at a Level 1 bench. Unlike the fence, it takes a whole inventory slot to itself.
- Build a wall frame where the opening should be.
- Place the gate in it.
- Put a code lock on it and share the code with your group, or anyone who walks up can open it.
Where it shines is the yard. Say you fenced off a rooftop garden with chainlink: the gate lets you in and out while you keep watching the road, and a door camper waiting outside shows up through the mesh instead of hiding behind wood.
The mesh shows the inside just as well, though. Never make it the last door in front of your tool cupboard or your boxes. Put a solid door there and keep the gate for spaces that hold nothing worth raiding.
