Overview
A Chainlink Fence.
Drop it into a wall frame when you want a wall you can look through. It turns a balcony, a rooftop or a yard beside the base into an enclosed space without blinding you, which is why people put it where they want to watch the road.
Pros
Cons
- Cheap: 75 metal fragments at a Level 1 workbench, and only 15 scrap to research
- You see who is outside before you open a door
- Pairs with a chainlink gate in the next frame
- The view works both ways, so never use it in front of loot
- A fence, not armour: expect it to fall long before your walls do
- Needs a wall frame, so it lives on your building, not out in the open
The usual setting is a farm yard on the second floor: planters on the floor, chainlink on the sides, and you can still spot a roamer coming down the road. If the wall has to stand up to a raid and you still want to see out, the prison cell wall is the sturdier frame piece, at a Level 2 bench and 150 frags.
