Overview
A high wooden wall used to keep people off your property.
Use it to put a fence between your base and everyone who walks past. A ring of these keeps roamers off your roof and away from your windows, gives furnaces and planters a yard nobody reaches without breaking in, and makes a raider spend boom before they touch your door.
Nothing in it is rare. Four thousand wood buys three walls at a Level 1 workbench, which is why the first compounds of a wipe are almost always wooden. Picture day one: a small stone base, two furnaces outside and a loud group next door. A couple of farming runs later the furnaces sit inside a closed ring, and the neighbours have to bring explosives to get at them.
Watch out
Wood burns. A few Molotovs or fire arrows can open a hole in a wooden ring, so never count on it to keep your loot safe overnight.
Once a Level 2 bench is up, most groups rebuild the ring with the stone high wall. Leave room for a wooden gate in the ring, or you will be climbing in over a ladder.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
