Overview
A glass bottle filled with low grade fuel. Smashes and spreads fire when it lands, incredibly high damage to wood and players but innefective against stronger materials.
Wood burns, and a molotov lets you choose what. The classic job: a fresh base two grids over still has a wooden door on the front, you have a Level 2 bench and a few bottles, and that door is not going to last. No sulfur, no gunpowder, just low grade fuel and some cloth that are probably already sitting in your box.
The game's own text says stronger materials shrug it off. Stone walls and a sheet metal door barely notice, so look at what you are throwing at before you empty a stack into it. That is also the defence: once your own doors are metal, molotovs stop being a threat to the base.
In a fight the fire on the ground matters more than the hit. Throw one into a doorway someone is holding, or into the bush a player is hiding in, and they have to move or burn. Just never throw it at your feet inside a wooden hut you are still standing in.
