High External Stone Wall

A ring of these turns your base into a compound, and that changes every fight at home. Roamers can no longer walk up to a window or shoot your door point blank, your furnaces and planters get a yard, and anyone who wants in has to commit to it.

The bill is mostly stones: 4,000 and one sheet metal per craft of three walls, at a Level 2 bench. Next to the wooden high wall you pay for a higher bench and twice the research scrap, and get a ring you will not replace when raids begin. Leave one opening for a stone gate, and keep the whole ring inside your Tool Cupboard's reach so it does not decay.

Know what it buys. It slows foot raids, door campers and people looting your yard, and any raid that blows through it spends explosives the base would otherwise eat. It does not stop a wooden ladder placed against it, rockets fired over the top at your upper floors, or a group that brings enough boom.
