Characteristics
Overview
A gate for accessing your animal pen.
Every pen needs exactly one of these, and rarely more. Fence pieces make the ring; the gate is the part you open with E to bring a horse in after a ride, so plan the ring around the spot where it goes.
It costs 500 wood, double a piece of animal fence, and only one fits in a slot, so craft it last, once you know the ring closes. No workbench is involved.
Tip
Face the gate toward your base door and keep the trough just inside it. Ride in, dismount at the trough, shut the gate behind you, and you are home instead of standing in the open fiddling with a pen.
The situation it fits: you claimed a horse at a stable with a single horse saddle, rode it home, and want it still standing there tomorrow. What it will not do is hold back players. For a compound entrance that has to survive a raid, the high external wooden gate is the real thing, at 3,000 wood plus gears and a Level 1 bench.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
