Characteristics
Overview
Homemade Landmine. If you stand on one, you can ask a friend to disarm it before it explodes.
Picture the strip of ground a raider has to cross to stick charges on your wall. A few of these hidden in the grass there can end a raid before the first boom, and anyone who survives one walks a lot more carefully afterwards.
Each mine costs 30 gun powder and a Level 2 workbench, and that powder comes out of the same pile as your ammo and boom. So place a handful where people really walk instead of carpeting the whole yard.
Watch out
Unlike a shotgun trap or an auto turret, a mine never asks who is authorized on your Tool Cupboard. You and your teammates set it off too, so tell your group where every one sits.
The game's own text gives the rule that saves lives. Stepping on one does not blow it up on the spot: freeze, don't step off, and ask a friend to disarm it. Raiders who spot a mine can also shoot it from a distance, which is why the hiding matters as much as the mine itself.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
