60 sulfur a mine, all of it as gun powder, at a Level 2 bench. The powder divides exactly, so the only waste is a mine laid where nobody walks.

About this craft

Half a beancan's sulfur buys one mine, and that is the comparison to make before you queue them. Apart from a few metal fragments, the whole bill is gun powder, so it lands on your furnace and on the same box your ammo and raid boom come from. A full stack takes 300 sulfur.

The research is short. The blueprint sits at a Level 2 workbench, and the only step under it is powder, which everyone can craft from the start. Batches never get in the way either: powder comes out in whole crafts for any number of mines, so nothing stays on the bench.

Watch out

Craft for the spots you have picked, not to fill a stack. A spare mine in the box is worth only half its powder at the recycler.

If sulfur is tight, a snap trap costs metal and a gear instead, and you pick it up again after it fires.
