Characteristics
Overview
A small improvised trap that injures and slows anyone who steps on it.
Scatter it on the dirt outside your first base and standing there starts to hurt. It costs 80 wood, needs no workbench, and a naked who steps on it gets hurt and slowed down, which is often enough to make him leave.
Picture hour one of a wipe. You have a 2x1 with a wooden door, and three guys with rocks keep hitting it or wait beside it for you to step out. Lay two or three spikes on the dirt right in front of the doorway and below any window someone could jump through. Now every door camper is standing on them, and whoever chases you home slows down at the worst moment.
Know its limits. It does nothing against explosives, and a player who sees it simply walks around it or breaks it. It sits on open ground, so it is no help inside the base; that is the job of wooden floor spikes. You will step on your own as well, so leave yourself a path.
Once you have a Level 1 bench and some metal, a shotgun trap behind the door shoots whoever comes through instead of just annoying them.
