Overview

In-game description
A collection of random tech parts.

Think of tech trash as the currency your raids are paid in. Each C4 takes two and a holosight one. The targeting computer an auto turret needs is another story: it cannot be crafted at all and only comes from loot. Batteries, smart switches, the storage monitor and night vision goggles all want a share too.

It cannot be crafted or researched at all, so it only comes from loot, the recycler or a trade. Military and elite crates at monuments drop it, and a CCTV camera you have no use for gives some back when you recycle it. No bench changes that, which is why a raid that needs a dozen charges drains the pile so fast.

So decide where the pile goes before anyone crafts on autopilot. Say your group comes home from a monument run with ten pieces. That is five C4, or a holosight for every gun in the base, or a share for the batteries and the storage monitor, and you only get one of those.

Watch out

Do not recycle it. A piece returns about one HQM and twenty scrap, and since nobody can craft tech trash, that piece is gone for good.

Recycling

Recycler

At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
