Overview
A personal underwater propulsion device
Swimming is slow, and underwater slow means your air runs out before the loot does. You hold the scooter out in front of you and it tows you along, so a dive to the seabed crates or into an underwater lab stops being a race against your diving tank.
Picture a duo leaving a quiet beach at night. Swimming, they would have to come up for air on the way and reach the entrance with half-empty tanks. With a scooter each they arrive with time to spare, loot without rushing and leave the same way before anyone on land knows they were there.
The gate is a Level 2 workbench and one piece of tech trash. Once you have both, the 150 metal fragments are pocket change. It runs on low grade fuel, so fill it on the beach, not halfway down.
Watch out
While the scooter is in your hands, a gun is not. Switch in the hotbar before you surface next to a stranger's boat or swim into a lab corridor.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
