Characteristics
Overview
Extracts minerals from the ground. Use a Survey Charge to determine the amount of minerals available for extraction in any given area.
A quarry of your own turns a patch of ground into ore while you are off doing something else. You set it down, put fuel in, and it digs whatever that spot holds: stone, metal, sulfur ore or the rarer high quality metal ore.
Getting one is the real problem. It has no recipe, no workbench and no research cost, so you can neither craft nor learn it, and how a player gets one on today's servers is murky. Plenty of people play wipe after wipe without ever seeing one. Treat it as a lucky find, never as part of a plan.
If one does land in your inventory, do not drop it on the first flat bit of grass. Its own description sends you to the survey charge: throw a few around the area and place the quarry where the readout suits what you need. It burns low grade fuel, not the diesel the big monument quarries want.
Picture it out on the plain past your walls, digging all night. The output box fills whether you are online or not, and anyone walking by can empty it. So put it where you can see it from a window, and collect often.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
