Characteristics
Overview
The classic s*** shack. A great starter base for any fresh spawn. You can only have one shelter deployed at anytime.
Drop it in your first minutes on a fresh spawn, when you have a rock, a torch and a pile of wood and nowhere to put anything. For 600 wood and no bench you get a small shack with a door, a spot you can close behind you while you work out the next step.
- Chop until you have the wood, then craft the shelter and place it off the main path up from the beach.
- Put a key lock on its door so the next fresh spawn running past can't just walk in.
- Lay a sleeping bag inside, so a death sends you back next to your stash instead of to the beach.
Keep your expectations low. The walls are wood, the shack stays the size it is, and the game lets you have only one shelter out at a time, so it never grows into a home. Anyone who really wants in will get in.
Think of it as the bridge to your first real build. As soon as you can afford a tool cupboard and a proper 2x1, move your stuff over. On a crowded coast where you keep dying, though, a locked shack with a bag in it saves you the long run back.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
