Characteristics
Overview
A sleeping bag. Placing this will give you or an assigned player a place to respawn, with a long cooldown.
Waking up next to your own stuff instead of on a random beach costs a bit of cloth. No workbench is needed, so the first bag usually goes down before the first wall, and it decides where you come back after the death that always arrives sooner or later.
The catch is the cooldown. Once you spawn on a bag it takes a long while to work again, which is why groups keep a bed in the main base and spread bags around everything else. Say you farm a quarry far from home every evening: a bag in a little 1x1 next to it turns a death there into a short jog instead of a trek across half the map. A few bags in different places, and a death almost always has a spawn close by.
Tip
You can give a bag to a teammate, and then it is their spawn, not yours. That is how most groups bring a new player into the base, so only hand bags to people you trust.
You cannot put one just anywhere. Another group's tool cupboard blocks bags inside its range, and a bag out in the open gets broken by the first roamer who spots it.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
