Overview
A high stone gate, allowing access in and out of your compound.
Riding home with a full bag and someone on your tail, this gate decides whether you ride into the yard or jump off in the open. That is its job: the one opening in a stone wall ring that you, your horse and your loot use every trip.
It costs more than the walls around it in the part that hurts. Five gears and 3,000 stones at a Level 2 workbench, against two gears for the wooden gate. Gears come from crates and recycling, so plenty of groups wall in stone first and wait a run or two for the gate.
Tip
Put a code lock on it as soon as it is placed and authorise everyone in the group. Without a lock the gate is no better than a hole in the wall, and a teammate with no access ends up stuck outside while a roamer lines him up.
What it will not do is keep raiders out for long. To someone with explosives the gate is one more stone-tier piece in the ring, and most raids get through the outer layer as cheaply as they can to save the real boom for the base. Treat it as convenience and a speed bump. The doors behind it hold the loot.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
