Overview
A high stone gate, allowing access in and out of your compound.
Put the four high gates side by side and they fall into two pairs. The Adobe gate sits with the stone gate: same Level 2 bench, same five gears and 3,000 stones, even the same recycler returns. That is because it is a skin of the stone gate: you research and craft that one and pick the Adobe look if you own the skin. The wooden pair is cheaper on every line.
| Gate | Bench | Gears | Main material | Research |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wooden | Level 1 | 2 | 3,000 wood | 60 scrap |
| Legacy | Level 1 | 2 | 3,000 wood | none (skin) |
| Stone | Level 2 | 5 | 3,000 stones | 120 scrap |
| Adobe | Level 2 | 5 | 3,000 stones | none (skin) |
So what you are choosing is a look. The game's own text still calls it a high stone gate, and nothing in the data hints at a tougher or weaker gate. Expect it to hold and fall like stone.
Where it makes sense: your group lives in the desert and has already ringed the base with Adobe walls. A grey gate in a clay-coloured ring just looks wrong, and the Adobe one keeps the line clean. If your walls are plain stone, the plain stone gate does the same job, and your five gears buy the same gate either way.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
