High External Legacy Gate

Nostalgia is the whole pitch here. The Legacy gate trades the clean planks of the High External Wooden Gate for a rough, patched look that harks back to the game's early years, and its own description admits it has seen better days. Under the paint it is the same gate, since it is a skin of the wooden one: a Level 1 bench, two gears and 3,000 wood, the same recycler returns.

The moment it fits is day one. You have a small base up, a horse that keeps wandering off, and a furnace you would rather not guard from the doorway. A wood ring with a gate gives you a yard, and a gate in the same style as the Legacy walls beside it just looks finished.

Those two gears are the hard part that early. Barrels and crates along the road give them, so pick a few up on the way home instead of recycling for them later.

Wood is still wood. When raids start, the groups with stone to spare move up to the stone gate, which needs a Level 2 bench and five gears. The Legacy version does not change that maths. It only changes what the ring looks like until then.
