A triangular armored hatch that opens and changes into a ladder.

Triangles are where this one belongs. Plenty of bases put a core, a stairwell or a shooting floor on triangle foundations, and a square hatch does not go into a triangle floor frame. That is the whole reason this item sits next to the square armoured ladder hatch.

Everything else matches: a Level 3 bench, 35 HQM, six gears, a wooden ladder and 60 scrap to research. Opened, it drops a ladder; closed, it is a piece of armoured floor that takes a lock.

Tip

Check the floor frames in your design before you spend scrap. Learning both armoured hatches costs 120, and most bases only need one shape. Below Level 3, the triangle ladder hatch fills the same frame for metal fragments.

Say your loot sits on top of a compact triangle bunker and the only way up runs through a triangle frame. Put the cheap hatch there and that frame is the soft spot raiders aim for, so it gets this one.
