Overview

In-game description
A 1 bit storage component. SET input will set the value to 1 CLEAR input sets the value to 0. Output will provide connected power if value is 1, Inverted output will provide connected power if value is 0. This is also known as a D-Type Flip Flop

Sensors in Rust forget instantly. A pressure pad only lets power through while someone stands on it, so the moment they step off, the evidence is gone. The memory cell keeps it: a pulse on SET flips its value to 1, a pulse on CLEAR puts it back to 0, and nothing in between changes that.

The circuit: hide a pad in the doorway of your loot room and run its output into SET. Wire a button that only your group can reach to CLEAR. Send the normal output to a flasher light in the airlock and the inverted output to a plain lamp beside it. The cell needs its own power feed too, run with the wire tool like everything else.

You come back from a long monument run. Lamp on, flasher dark: nobody stepped in. Flasher going: someone was in the loot room while you were away, maybe a teammate, maybe somebody who found a way in, so you check before walking through with your kit. One press of the button and the board is clean again.

It takes a Level 2 workbench, the same as the AND switch.
