Overview

In-game description
This object allows you to branch power off from a main line by a set amount.

Use it when one line has to feed two very different things. The branch has a main output and a side output. It peels off the amount you set, sends that out of the side, and everything left over keeps going down the main line.

Picture a small generator in the back room feeding an auto turret over the door. You also want two ceiling lights in the airlock. Put a branch on the generator's line, set it to what the lights need, wire them to the side output and carry on to the turret from the main one. The lights get only their small cut and the turret keeps the bulk.

That is the difference from a splitter, which can only cut power into equal shares. With a turret and a lamp, equal shares leaves the lamp holding far more than it will ever burn.

You set the amount on the branch itself, by looking at it and opening its menu. Several in a row can feed several rooms off one generator, as long as the generator covers the total. They cost metal fragments at a Level 1 bench, so do not be shy with them.
