Overview
A small ceiling mounted light source.
Once the base has power, this is what replaces every lantern in it. No fuel to top up and no refuelling trips: it hangs from a ceiling and glows for as long as the line feeding it is live. Fifty metal fragments at a Level 1 bench and 15 scrap to research, so most groups learn it the same evening as their first battery.
- Put a large solar panel on the roof and wire it into a small rechargeable battery.
- From the battery's output, run the wire tool to a switch.
- Wire the switch to the light, clicking along the ceiling as you go so the cable stays out of your way.
For several rooms, put a splitter or a branch after the switch. And make one habit stick: flip the switch off when you leave. A lit window at night shows every roamer that the base is lived in, and the battery drains on rooms nobody is standing in.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
