Overview
A tough metal barricade with barbed wire, made from Metal Fragments. The barbed wire causes damage and will also slow player movement.
Use it on the spots raiders will try to clear first. Wooden barricades go down to anyone with a hatchet and some patience. This one is metal, the game itself calls it tough, and the gap you blocked stays blocked longer while you shoot.
The wire works like the cheaper barbed wooden barricade: it hurts whoever pushes into it and slows them down. What changes is the bill. You need a Level 2 workbench, 200 metal fragments and two metal blades per barricade, and 60 scrap to research it, twice what the barbed wooden one asks.
Pros
Cons
- Metal, so it lasts longer than wood under melee
- The wire hurts and slows anyone pushing through
- No rope in the recipe
- Locked behind a Level 2 bench
- Two blades each, and blades are always short
- People simply walk around it if there is room
Picture an online raid on your compound. The gate is gone and the raiders want to rush the house door before you reposition. Two of these in that gap, and they either stop to break metal under your fire or limp through the wire.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
