Elevator

A powered lift you build one section per floor. It saves the climb in a tall base, but it costs gears and HQM and stops dead without power.

Overview

In-game description
A powered elevator. Place another elevator above or below this to connect it. Requires power.

Tall bases are where it pays. Four floors of loot rooms with a shooting floor on the roof means a lot of climbing, and every ladder hatch you go up during a defence is a moment with your hands off the gun. The elevator carries you to the top while you reload.

Each item is one section of the shaft, and its own text says you connect them by placing one above or below another. So a four-floor run is four elevators in your inventory.

  1. Place the first section on the lowest floor it should stop at.
  2. Stack the next section on top, one per floor, up to the highest stop.
  3. Run power to the top section with the wire tool.
  4. Step in and use the floor controls.

The bill adds up. You need a Level 2 workbench, then per section a gear, three high quality metal and two hundred metal fragments, plus sixty scrap to research it once. And it wants constant power. If the battery runs flat or the small generator runs out of fuel, the lift stops, so keep a ladder route somewhere else in the base.
