Overview
A logic gate that allows electrical passthrough if EITHER input receives power, passthrough amount is the greater of either power source
The OR switch asks one question: does at least one of my two inputs have power? If so, power goes out, at the strength of the stronger input. That makes it the simplest way to give one consumer two independent feeds.
The circuit worth building is a backup for your auto turret. One input comes from a small generator, the other from a large rechargeable battery that a large solar panel tops up during the day. While both run, the turret takes the stronger one. When the generator burns through its last low grade at four in the morning, the battery holds the turret up, and when the night drains the battery, the generator still carries it.
Two things trip people up. The output is the bigger input, never the sum, so two weak sources do not make one strong one: size each side so it can run the turret alone. And the gate stores nothing. If both sides go dark, so does everything behind it.
It is a Level 1 craft, so there is no reason to wait for the second bench.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
