Overview
A gate which allows power to flow while a player is in the beam
Where a pressure pad watches one square of floor, a laser watches a line. Point it across the gap between your compound wall and the base, over the roof or down the hallway to the loot room, and anyone who crosses lets power through for as long as they are in the beam.
Roofs are where it earns its keep. Raiders like to land a minicopter up there or build their way up from outside, and the roof is the place you look at least. A detector across the roof, wired into a siren light in your main room, starts it spinning the moment someone walks through, and your phone can get the same news through a smart alarm.
Power runs through it as through a switch: source in, consumer out, and the beam decides when the line is live. Your own group trips it as well, so pick lines you rarely walk.
It costs seventy-five metal fragments and thirty scrap to research, cheap enough to cover several angles at once.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
