Overview
A Heartbeat, Breathing, Humidity and Footstep sensor. Passthrough is equal to the number of humans detected in a 10m radius
Heartbeat, breathing, humidity and footsteps: the name lists what it listens for, and the game's text adds the useful part. It passes on power equal to the number of humans it detects within 10 metres. One roamer at your wall gives a weak signal, a full group a stronger one.
That makes it a headcount. Players wire its output into a counter in the main room, and a glance at the display tells them how many people are standing outside the door before anyone opens it. The same output into a smart alarm gets you a ping on your phone instead.
Unlike a laser detector, it does not need a clear line, and that cuts both ways. Mounted next to your crafting room, it fires every time your own group walks past, unless you set it to leave authorised players out. Put it by the outer wall or the compound gate, where your team rarely stands around.
Seventy-five metal fragments and thirty scrap to learn, the same as the laser.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
