Characteristics
Overview
A Water Purifier. Place overtop of a campfire. Will provide clean, drinkable water from salty, or stagnant water.
Your base sits on the coast, the nearest river is a long run inland, and every trip for a drink is a chance for someone to catch you. Set this over a camp fire and the sea becomes your well: pour in salt water, keep the fire burning, and drinkable water collects inside.
- Build the camp fire where you want the water, ideally inside your walls.
- Place the purifier over it.
- Fill it with salt water from a bottle or a bucket.
- Add wood, light the fire and come back later for the fresh water.
No bench is needed, and the cloth and frags cost next to nothing. What holds you up is the empty propane tank: early in a wipe it turns up in barrels, and later a Level 2 bench crafts one. Recycle a spare purifier and you get the tank back only some of the time, so hang on to the one you have.
It is slow, and it only works while the fire burns. Once your group has power and a farm to water, the powered water purifier takes over. Do not trust either with radioactive water: this one's text only promises to clean salty or stagnant water.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
