Characteristics
Overview
A large planter with enough room to plant 9 seeds.
Nine seeds in one wooden bed, which is why almost every farm is built from these. Hemp for cloth, corn and pumpkins for food, berries for teas: whatever your group grows, it grows in here.
The maths favours it. Three small planter boxes hold the same nine seeds but cost three tarps and 300 wood, against two tarps and 200 here. Tarps are the bottleneck early, since they cannot be crafted at any bench, so most people pull them from road loot or the recycler.
A planter only gives back what you put in. Plants need light and water, and better ground grows more, so a box in a dark corner stays poor. Early on somebody carries water up in a bucket; once the farm grows past a few boxes, a large water catcher with a hose waters the row while you roam. Fertilizer from a composter lifts the ground condition between rounds.
Tip
Start with hemp seeds. Cloth goes into low grade fuel and medical supplies, so the first harvest is never wasted while you hunt for tarps for the next box.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.

Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
