Characteristics
Overview
Helps plants grow by increasing ground condition. Produced in a composter.
You feed it to your crops. Fertilizer raises the ground condition in a planter, and better soil is one of the things that pushes a plant toward a bigger harvest. It does not replace light and water, though: a planter stuck in a dark corner stays poor however much you put in.
Nobody finds it lying around. It comes out of a composter, a cheap wooden box you can build without any bench. The usual feed is dung from a horse you keep near the base, plus whatever your farm throws away: rotten crops, spare berries, scraps.
- Put the composter next to your planters or the horse pen, so nothing has to travel far.
- Drop in dung and farm leftovers and let it work.
- Take the fertilizer out and add it to each large planter box before the next round goes in.
Say you run a duo base with six planters of hemp and corn on the roof. The stable's dung piles up anyway, so composting it costs you nothing and the next crop starts on better ground. A solo with one planter can skip all of this and spend the time on nodes.
