Overview

In-game description
A storage container for water. Can output 10ml of water a second via a hose.

Give your farm a reserve. A barrel sits between whatever collects water and whatever drinks it, so the planters keep getting fed after the rain stops and while you are three grids away on a roam.

It costs one tarp and 250 wood, needs no bench and takes 15 scrap to research. Recycle it and the tarp only comes back by chance, so do not count on getting it back.

  1. Put a large water catcher on the roof or in the yard.
  2. Run a hose from the catcher's output to the barrel.
  3. Run a second hose from the barrel to a sprinkler over your planters.

Mind the speed. The game text says it pushes 10 ml a second through a hose, and that is slow. A sprinkler or a couple of large planter boxes can live on it, but if you split the line across a whole farm, check that the far end still gets wet. You can also fill a bottle or a jug straight from it before you head out.
