Overview
A Bed. Placing this will give you a place to respawn and can be used much more frequently than a sleeping bag. Note: Must be placed inside a building.
Put one in your main base and dying stops costing you the walk home. The game says you can use a bed far more often than a sleeping bag, and you feel that on the evening you get killed three times at the same monument while the bag is still counting down.
The price is what holds people back. A bag is a bit of cloth and no bench. A bed wants a Level 1 workbench, cloth, frags and two sewing kits, and the kits come from road loot, not from your farm. It also has to stand inside a building, so it is never your beach spawn.
Pros
Cons
- Ready to use again far sooner than a bag
- Researchable for 30 scrap
- Recycling it usually hands a sewing kit back
- Two sewing kits per bed
- Only works indoors
- Gone with the base if raiders clear it
Most groups run both: a bed or two at home, cheap bags at a farm or a forward base, so a death anywhere has a spawn close by.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
