Characteristics
Overview
A lockable steering wheel for your modular boat with some suspiciously shaped handles.
You steer your boat from it, and you lock it so nobody else can. It is also the cheapest part of the whole project: 100 wood at a Level 1 workbench and 15 scrap to learn. Craft it in the same session as the Boat Building Plan and you will never launch a hull you cannot point anywhere.
The lock matters more than the price. A boat moored at the boat building station sits in open water, and anyone with a few minutes can swim out to it. Its description calls the wheel lockable, and that is the line between a stranger admiring your boat and a stranger sailing it home.
The moment it pays off: you stop by a coastal monument, lower the anchor and walk inland to loot. The anchor handles the drift. The locked wheel is what keeps a passing roamer from driving off with every box on deck while you are gone.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
