An extra large shutter frame
Windows are a weak spot, so a sensible base has none near the loot. That leaves the room around your tool cupboard as a stone box. The XL shutter frame fixes the look: paint a view of the sea, a forest or the night sky, hang it on the wall, and with the wooden shutters around it the picture reads like a real window from across the room.
Open the shutters with E in the morning and close them before you log off, if you like the routine. Next to a bed it makes the room feel lived in.
It costs 150 wood with no bench, lets in no light and stops no bullets. Its row shows no research cost, so it has to be unlocked for you. For one long wall the XXL size gives you a bigger view at the same price.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
Recycling
At power grid stage 2 a green recycler works at 60% instead of 50%. Yields depend on the recycler.
