Overview
An improvised wooden kayak. Seats two and requires a Paddle to operate.
Paddling along the coast beats walking along it when the only road inland is camped. The kayak burns no fuel and makes little noise, so it suits a careful player more than a fast one: a duo slipping out to a coastal monument, a solo hopping to an island to hide a stash, a trip home with loot nobody saw you carry.
It goes nowhere unless someone aboard has a paddle. That is the classic first-trip mistake: the boat waits in the shallows, the paddle waits in a box at home. Two people fit, which also means a second pair of eyes on the shore.
Building one is easy on resources. The only part that asks for a detour is the cloth, so pull some hemp on the way; the rest is wood and a few frags at a Level 1 workbench, and the research costs very little scrap.
Speed is the weak spot. A motorboat or a hull from the boat building station catches you easily, and sitting in a kayak gives you no cover from a shot. Stay near the shore and beach it the moment trouble shows up.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
