A versatile melee weapon that can also be used to paddle a kayak.

You craft a paddle for one reason: a kayak goes nowhere without it. The boat itself needs a Level 1 workbench, but the paddle is made by hand. The part that may slow you down is the metal blade, which usually turns up in roadside barrels in the first hours of a wipe.

Picture a duo trip along the coast to a monument nobody is watching from land. You loot, jog back to the beach and push off before anyone arrives. Once ashore, the paddle doubles as a melee weapon. It is tough, too: its durability sits close to a salvaged sword, which is built on the same blade.

Tip

Keep a spare in a box near the spot where you launch. Paddles break and get looted, and a kayak without one stays exactly where you left it.
