The plain metal shelf anyone can learn for 30 scrap. Handy for keeping cheap stock in sight of the whole group, a poor home for anything worth stealing.

Overview

In-game description
Shelves for item stacking

Use it for the stuff your group grabs all day. Stand one by the door of the farm room with spare hatchets, cloth and a few bandages on it, and nobody digs through five boxes before heading out to hit nodes.

Next to the bamboo pieces it is the dependable shelf. It costs 50 metal fragments rather than wood, but you can learn it for 30 scrap, while the bamboo wall shelves cannot be researched at all. The salvaged industrial shelves cost and research exactly the same, so between those two you pick by how the room looks.

Watch out

Shelves take no lock. Whatever sits on them belongs to the first raider who reaches that room, so ammo, components and boom stay in a large wood box with a lock on it.

Recycle one you no longer want and some of the fragments come back.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
