Characteristics
Overview
You can use this table to learn how to permanently craft items you have found in exchange for scrap.
Loot comes and goes, a blueprint stays. That trade is what the table is for: you give it an item you found plus some scrap, the item is used up, and from then on you craft it yourself for the rest of the wipe. The table costs 200 metal fragments and 20 scrap at a Level 1 workbench, which is why it tends to be the first thing a group spends scrap on.
Say a crate at a monument hands you a semi-automatic rifle on day one. You could take it roaming and probably lose it. Or you put it on the table, pay the 60 scrap, and once a Level 2 bench is down every rifle after that costs materials instead of luck.
- Place the table inside your base, not out in the open.
- Put the item in its slot and the scrap beside it; the table shows the price first.
- Start the research and wait a moment for the blueprint.
The workbench tech tree is the other road to blueprints, and it unlocks things you have never held. But for an item already in your hands, the table is usually the cheaper route. Not everything fits: some items carry no research cost at all, and those cannot be learned here.

Direct hit, hard side, no duds. Satchel Charge is a dud 20% of the time. Beancan Grenade is a dud 15% of the time. A range runs from point blank to the far end of the bullet's falloff, fired from an Assault Rifle.
