A whole explosive and a pipe go into every pair, the top rung of the 40mm ladder. No blueprint can be researched, so the price is what you lose per shot.
Unfold this round and a Level 3 chain sits inside it: one explosive per pair, which means the explosives blueprint, raw sulfur on top of the powder and some low grade fuel, plus a metal pipe. That makes it the most expensive rung the multiple grenade launcher fires, and the only one with a raid ingredient in it.
You still can't craft it. The game gives players no blueprint for it, not even through research, so every HE in play comes from loot, as its item page says. The price tag is for deciding when to fire: each round spent on a lone naked is half an explosive and half a pipe gone.
Watch out
Don't send spare HE to the recycler hoping for the explosive back. Most of what comes out is gun powder; the explosive and the pipe only drop now and then.
For a blast you can actually queue, the F1 grenade is the craftable answer, thrown instead of launched.
