About this craft

Every F1 is exactly three gun powder crafts, so whatever number you order, nothing stays on the bench. Half the sulfur of a beancan for a fuse you can trust is a good trade. The price is the bench: beancans come off Level 1, the F1 waits for a Level 2 workbench.

That sets the research order. Before Level 2 you learn beancans anyway, since satchels need them. Once Level 2 stands, the F1 blueprint is cheap and takes over every fight that isn't against a door.

Craft them right before a roam, not by the box. Grenades in a chest are powder that could have been rifle rounds, and the recycler gives back only half of it. If the plan is a room push, queue a flashbang with them.
