Hoodie

The cloth top most armoured players wear under a chest plate. A Level 2 bench and a sewing kit each, and far more protection than any burlap shirt.

Overview

In-game description
A hoodie.

The roamer you just dropped on the road was wearing one under his road sign jacket. Keep it. Thirty scrap at a research table turns it into a blueprint, and from then on every kit you craft gets a proper layer underneath.

The price sits at the bench. A hoodie needs a Level 2 workbench, forty cloth and a sewing kit, while a burlap shirt asks twenty cloth and nothing else. What you pay for is protection: burlap barely stops a stray swing, the hoodie covers torso and arms and takes a real bite out of bullets and cold. A T-shirt or longsleeve from a Level 1 bench sits somewhere in between.

It goes under armour, not instead of it. Metal chest plate or road sign jacket on top, hoodie below, pants on the legs: that is what most geared players wear in the middle of a wipe. Under a hazmat suit it has to come off, since the suit covers the whole body.

The lumberjack hoodie has the same recipe and, by its own text, the same protection, so wear whichever you own.
