Burlap Shirt

The first real piece of clothing most players craft: twenty cloth, no bench. Later it stays on under a road sign jacket instead of going to waste.

Overview

In-game description
A Shirt made out of burlap.

Naked on the sand with a rock and a torch, you want clothes before anyone spots you. Every hemp plant on the way inland is cloth, and twenty of it turns into this shirt, the piece that makes you look like a player and not a free kill for whoever is farming the coast.

  1. Pick hemp as you walk until you have around fifty cloth.
  2. Craft a sleeping bag first and place it where you plan to build.
  3. Then the shirt, then trousers, and only after that small pieces like gloves.

Burlap stops very little. It takes the edge off the cold and a stray swing, nothing more. After a hunt, a hide poncho gives a bit more on the chest, paid in leather instead of cloth.

But the shirt does not get thrown away when armour arrives. A road sign jacket goes on over it, so plenty of players keep a burlap shirt underneath until they find something warmer.
