Wooden Horse Armor

On a farming trip your horse spends most of the time standing still. You ride out to the ore nodes in the hills, hop off, and while you swing a pickaxe the animal waits in the open, the easiest target for anyone passing with a bow. Lose it and you walk home with a full bag. Wood armour is for that horse: by its game text it gives moderate protection to you and your steed, with a reduction in movement speed.

The price is 300 wood and two rope at a Level 1 workbench, and every player knows the recipe from the start. The wood is nothing. The rope is the catch, since nobody can craft it: it comes only from barrels, crates and the recycler, and your satchels and ladder want the same coils.

Do not armour the horse you use to escape. The speed loss is smaller than with roadsign horse armor, which protects more and slows far more, but a chase is still the wrong place for any plating.

The armour goes on a horse you have already claimed with a single horse saddle or a double one. A dead horse takes all of it along, so tie yours up at home.
