Characteristics
Overview
An RF Pager. An audible tone will be produced when a signal is picked up on the listening frequency. Can be set to silent mode.
Put it in your inventory and the base can reach you while you are away. The pager does nothing but listen: when something on its frequency goes off, it beeps, and that is the whole item. What makes it useful is whoever sends the signal.
Two senders are common. A teammate with an RF transmitter uses it as a come-home-now button. Or the base calls on its own: a sensor in the loot room wired into an RF broadcaster, and every pager on that number goes off when someone walks in.
Say you and your duo are halfway through a card run at a monument when both pockets start beeping. You drop it and head home, and the raiders are still on the first wall instead of already in your TC.
The silent mode from its description is for the other side of the job. Sitting in a bush waiting for a roamer, you do not want your own pocket giving you away.
The Smart Alarm does the same job through phone notifications and reaches you when you are offline, which the pager never will. The pager costs nothing but metal fragments, though, and works without an app.
