Overview

In-game description
A hand held RF signal broadcaster. Left click to broadcast. Configurable with right mouse.

Treat it as the remote control for your base. On its own the handheld does nothing; it matters once something at home listens on the same frequency, and that is usually an RF Receiver wired into your electrics. Click, and whatever hangs off the receiver gets power.

What groups actually hang off it:

  • a door controller on the garage door, so you can open up from a horse with a roamer on your tail
  • outside lights, to check the compound at night without stepping out
  • an RF pager in a teammate's pocket, as a come-home-now button

It is cheap: a Level 2 bench, a hundred frags and fifteen scrap to learn. The skill is in the wiring at home, not in the remote.

Pick an odd frequency and keep it inside the group. Anyone holding a transmitter, or a static RF Broadcaster, on the same number triggers your receiver just as well as you do. So a door that opens on a signal is a door a raider can open too if he finds the number, and plenty of players keep the remote for lights and pagers and leave the main door on a code lock.
